Honda BRV vs Toyota Sienta: Which One Is The Best Family Car

There are some big decisions you will have to make when deciding which is the better car for your family, lifestyle and budget.

Honda BRV vs Toyota Sienta: Size

First, we will look at the size and shape. Honda BRV vs Toyota Sienta, both cars seat the children very comfortably. The Honda BRV has a lot more room in the interior. The size of the cars is also very similar. If you are looking for a family car that can go off-road then you will most likely prefer the Toyota Sienta or the Honda BRV.

Honda BRV vs Toyota Sienta: Performance

Durability and performance are pretty much the same for both cars. The only difference is in size and shape. The Honda BRV will be slightly smaller than the Toyota Sienta. This makes the cars great for families with smaller vehicles.

Both cars are very strong, I would have to say on par. The biggest advantage that the Honda BRV has over the Toyota Sienta is in the area of family cars. The Honda cars tend to be more "family" friendly then the Toyota cars.

Here are a few more points in comparing the two cars. Both cars have similar gasoline mileage, which is important. But the Honda cars do have a better acceleration. In the Honda test the cars went from a mpg difference of 11% to a difference of just one percent. This is a very small difference but if you look at the overall gasoline gallon weight difference you will see a substantial disparity.

Honda BRV vs Toyota Sienta: Fuel Efficiency

The other thing that the cars have in common is in the area of fuel efficiency. Both cars do very well in the city and they are equally as efficient on the highway. The only real difference between the two is in the wet weight category. If you were looking for a family car with an everyday weight saving advantage then the Honda might be the better choice.

The test performed by the Toyota testing team found a slight advantage to the Sienta. The cars did have some minor differences in the handling tests but overall they both performed very well. The advantage was mostly found in the wet weight categories where the Sienta lost out by a few percentage points. The Honda lost out in both the acceleration and the stop-start times in the Honda test.

In conclusion, these are two cars that perform differently in many areas. The overall result was a tie in the overall performance. I would recommend that you take a test drive of both of these cars if possible. You will find that both cars have their advantages and disadvantages. But overall the Honda car has a slight edge.

Both cars had excellent fuel mileage during the test period. Although the Toyota did better on the tailgating time, the Honda seemed to have trouble getting onto the tailgates at the different tracks. Also in testing both cars on straightaways, it was apparent that the Honda had better speed on the backfoot. Overall a conclusion would seem to show that if you are looking for a family car that is reasonably priced and gets good gas mileage, then the Honda should be your choice.

Honda BRV vs Toyota Sienta: Verdict

On the other hand, if price is your major concern then the Sienta was clearly the more affordable of the two cars. They both had similar fuel mileage and both cars also had excellent braking performance. On test day the Honda slightly out performed the Toyota when it came to stopping time. But overall both cars had similar stop-time performances.

In comparison to the weight difference, the Honda seems to have a slight advantage. The difference in weight might not be enough to make much of a difference in your decision. However, if you need a family car with a strong engine and a great reputation for reliability, then the Honda is your best bet. The Toyota is probably a better option for those looking for a family friendly sports car, with a smaller engine and a lot less weight.

Overall, both cars had very good fuel mileage during the test. The biggest determining factor might be the weight difference between the two cars. Both cars could easily qualify as an inexpensive family car, but it comes down to what you want to use it for. If weight is something that concerns you, then you will probably want to go with the Honda.
